Firestone Public House Grand Opening!

Firestone Public House “First Look” Grand Opening

May 10th Event Benefits UC Davis Children’s Hospital

Sacramento, CA—Firestone Public House (www.firestonepublichouse.com), the eclectic public ale house sports venue at the corner of 16th and L Streets, celebrates its grand opening on May 10th with a benefit event supporting UC Davis Children’s Hospital. The event is presented by restaurateurs Mason, Curtis and Alan Wong of Cafeteria 15L, the Park Downtown, and M!X Downtown; and the de Vere White brothers, restaurateurs Henry, Simon, and Mark de Vere White of de Vere’s Irish Pub.  

The open house-style event is from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., and will feature great food, entertainment, a raffle, music, and unique opportunities to meet and greet local leaders, athletes, friends and associates. Ticket prices are $75.00 and include admittance for one guest, appetizers, and two beverages (choice of beer, wine, well).  Valet parking will be available. Firestone Public House features large flat screen televisions, an expansive menu featuring creative American food, and 60 beers on tap. The public house offers outdoor patio dining, spacious central bar and wood-fired pizza oven, as well as menu items straight from the demonstration kitchen featuring a BBQ/smoker.

Get your kids in costume and come enjoy brunch with the family. (We'll be dressed up, too!) This special event will include: -Games for the kids to play while you wait for brunch -Treat bags for the family to decorate and fill with candy before leaving -An area for your kids to take photos and show off their costumes

We will also have: -A hostess to help get you a table as quickly as possible -Extra high chairs, but we recommend you bring your own as well (If you have a small portable chair), as there will be a lot of kids running around!

VIDEO: Galway Oyster Shucking Contest

This Saturday, we're hosting the 2nd Annual Oyster Shucking Contest at de Vere's for Sac Oyster Fest. Local chefs will go head-to-head, and will be judged on speed, accuracy, how much brine is left on the shell, and presentation. The winner gets a plaque and a years' worth of bragging rights.

Galway, home of the world's original and biggest Oyster Festival, has similar competitions every year. Check out this 2009 nail biter between  Swedish, Canadian, American, and Estonian competitors.

See you Saturday--the celebration is all day long and the competition starts at 3pm!
