Coming Events Albie Puttin' Pub/Putt Crawl  First Annual Albie Puttin’ Pub Crawl on Saturday, August 28th, 2010. The Pub Crawl will start at de Vere’s Irish Pub at 11 am. Participating bars include; deVere’s Irish Pub, Capital Garage, Badlands, Mulvaneys B&L, Torch Club, Streets of London Pub, Bistro 33, L Wine Lounge, and Zocalo. Other supporters include, the Sacramento Metro Chamber. The event will include an organized bar golf course with a shotgun start at noon. Custom golf holes will be constructed with a bar/Go Girl theme at each stop. Those who finish the course will be eligible for prizes, with the grand prize being a three-day, two-night trip to Las Vegas. Prizes will also be given to those with the best-worst golf attire, most creative costume and best golf score. Albie Carson Breast Cancer Foundation was created in memory of Albie Carson who succumbed to breast cancer on July 4, 2002. Albie was a 50-year resident of Sacramento where she attended school, raised a family, and made a career in the real estate community. She developed strong ties to the area and was well known and loved by her peers and clients alike. Her legacy continues to be one of selfless giving. In honor of Albie, it is their goal to raise money to help others in the community who face their own battles with this disease. “Albie Aware” sounds like “I’ll be aware” and that’s their purpose: To make people aware of cancer prevention methods through nutrition and exercise, to encourage self-examination and a follow-up doctor’s appointment for early detection, to be aware of the diagnostic testing available to determine the best treatment for breast cancer and the early detection of a recurrence, and to provide financial assistance when these tests are not covered by the insurance provider. More than 2.4 million women in the U.S. are living with breast cancer. This is why Go Girl Energy Drink is committed to help raise funds for those in need. Fiddle, Melvin Fong [aka "McMelvin O'Fong"]; mandolin and guitar, Josh Surette; Irish flute and Uillean pipes, Day Griffin; penny whistle and Irish drum, Christine Sproul. Come enjoy the pub and join GRIFFIN for some hot tunes! Nine-8ths Irish hosts a traditional Irish session every 2nd and 4th Sunday Session starts at 4:00 PM de Vere's is proud to host highly acclaimed Sacramento band Nine-8ths Irish! The band combines the talents of four accomplished musicians to present music that is “Irish and a wee bit more.” Nine-8ths Irish enjoys sharing their love of traditional Irish music with audiences throughout northern California. A Special Event at de Vere's "One of my best friends is a Marine and he traveled around the world serving his country. On this Journey he carried with him an American flag. This flag circumnavigated the globe, went through Iraq, through Ireland and back to the states. He framed it and gave to me to put on the walls of my pub, this is a video of his formal presentation to me.
